AACT partners have a long track record of achievement in pivotal clinical trials in a range of common conditions. Their studies have influenced clinical guidelines in a variety of conditions including hypertension, dyslipidemia, coronary heart disease, heart failure, cerebrovascular disease and HIV/AIDS.

Alliance members have conducted much of this work in partnership with research agencies (e.g. NIH) and the pharmaceutical industry (e.g. GSK, Pfizer, BMS) to produce robust evidence that has resulted in extension of labeling for a variety of drugs including ACE inhibitors, statins and beta-blockers. The Alliance partners' current program of research in diabetes is expected to have similar outcomes, both for guidelines and for labeling.

AACT members have high-level expertise in:

  • research methodology
  • statistical analysis
  • economic analysis
