Networks

Map of AACT activity showing the research network extending across North and South America, part of Africa, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific.AACT has established high quality, primary and specialty care research networks that extend across the globe, and include over 1000 collaborating centres in six continents.

The networks include cardiologists, neurologists, endocrinologists, nephrologists, hypertension specialists, internists and surgeons, in chronic disease disciplines ranging from vascular medicine to orthopedics, from diabetes to cardiac surgery, and from HIV therapy to intensive care.

Additionally, these networks include many hundreds of experienced clinical research associates trained in ICH-GCP procedures. The networks include centers in established markets such as North America, Western Europe and Australasia, as well as centers in emerging markets such as China, India, South East Asia and Eastern Europe.

The AACT network has been developed over many years. While in several specialities it is the largest network worldwide (e.g. diabetes, cerebrovascular disease) and among the largest in HIV/AIDS, it has been designed primarily to provide quality and efficiency, rather than size alone.

The AACT network partners share a common vision and a commitment to scientific excellence, quality of operations, and policy and practice impact. This allows AACT to strive for, expect, and receive a consistent standard of performance from network members.
