Core Team
Each of the principals of the AACT partner institutions has more than two decades' experience in clinical research. In addition, the principals each hold full professorial appointments in both medicine and clinical epidemiology and/or biostatistics at university medical schools or schools of public health with which their research facilities are associated.
Together, the AACT partners have successfully implemented more than thirty large-scale clinical trials, involving over 150,000 participants. In these trials, the partners have served as Principal Investigators, overseeing their center's role as an international or regional coordinating center, biostatistical center, and/or clinical site.
The principals and senior staff of the partner institutions have also served as chairs or members of clinical trials steering committees, data safety and monitoring boards, and endpoint adjudication committees. In total, the AACT partners have published more than 1000 medical research papers, including numerous reports in prestigious journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA and The Lancet.
